We are looking for employees who are responsible, motivated, and intelligent. More specifically, an ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience in financial reporting and/or actuarial modeling

  • Have experience using actuarial software systems such as ARCVAL, Prophet®, AXIS®, or ALFA®

  • Be an Actuarial Student at any exam level, but particularly one who has passed a minimum of 3 exams with a goal of attaining FSA status

  • Be an ASA or FSA with strong skills at project management, modeling, product development or financial economics and experience or aptitude in supervising the work of actuarial students

Current Career Opportunities at ARC:

System Developer

ARC has a position in its Overland Park, KS office (near Kansas City metro area) for a System Developer.  

Perform software engineering duties for the design, development and implementation of business requirements. Analyze business needs to create solutions. Develop, deploy and monitor applications to assure their consistency as well as modify requirement documents to meet business needs. Use T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS to write stored procedures, Tables, Cursors, Views, Indexes, Triggers, User defined functions, ETL, cubes, and reporting for the CASE environment. Enhance and maintain existing Stored Procedures, SSIS packages, SSRS reports, and SSAS Cubes, as well as database tables.  Create new stored procedures, SSIS Packages, SSRS reports, and Cubes.  Fix system issues as identified.  Address performance concerns to increase system speed and efficiency.  Utilize TFS to log issues and track changes to the system.  Test any and all aspects of CASE.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

 

Five years of experience in:

 

  • T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and TFS;

  • Software development cycle and test life cycle;

  • Testing methodologies, planning principles, test modeling and deployment principles; and

  • Agile methodology.

Consulting Actuary

ARC has a position open in its Overland Park, KS office (Kansas City metro area) for an ASA or FSA to work in its modeling and projection consulting division. This position will also be involved in the development of product and company models for pricing and cash flow testing.
The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial reporting and/or actuarial modeling

  • Strong project management skills

  • Experience in supervising the work of actuarial students

  • Experience with actuarial software systems such as ARCVAL, Prophet®, AXIS®, or ALFA®
